Radiant Skin
When it comes to a glowing complexion what we put into our bodies and how we treat our skin and ourselves has a huge impact on how we look ? no skin care product can overcome certain damage. Here are a few hints to take the best care of your skin and get that radiant glow.
1. Eat a balanced diet ? what we put in our bodies will show on our skin. If you eat fatty foods and junk your skin will reflect that, so give your skin proper nutrition.
2. Get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep every night. A lack of sleep will show up under your eyes as dark circles or bags. Proper rest will also benefit your body and your life.
3. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day to keep your skin hydrated. It is best to spread the consumption of water in small amounts over the course of the day to be sure it is properly absorbed.
4. Maintain a regular exercise schedule. Exercise gets the blood moving and creates a healthy body.
5. Get lots of fresh air but avoid prolonged exposure to wind and cold.
6. Avoid the sun and tanning beds. The damage done by ultraviolet rays is long lasting and cannot be reversed.
7. Always wear sunglasses to avoid squinting.
8. Try to achieve a well-balanced life and reduce stress.
9. Exfoliate twice a week to rid your skin of dead cells.
10. Develop a skin care routine for your particular skn type.
If you have been neglecting your complexion start right away to improve it ? it’s never too late. What you do today will show up in your skin in the future. It’s up to you.

The Botox Effect
BOTOX® is part of a group of drugs called “botulinum toxins”. Specifically, is a registered trademark and brand name for “Botulinum Toxin Type A”, which is manufactured by the company with the name “Allergan”. Anything else that is manufactured by another company, which has to be called BOTOX®.
Botox is actually a cousin to the dreaded botulism food poisoning that is caused by the evil bacterium Clostridium botulinum.
Oops! That sounds scary enough to make you stop reading right now – but do not run away quite yet. Just as the Atomic Energy use for good and bad, it’s room’in your life for Botox if used and managed properly.
Even though you may have just heard that recently, Botox has been around since the beginning of the 1960′, which was first approved for use as a treatment for strabismus (crossed eyes). It later received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for three specific medical condition known as blepharospasm, strabismus, and cervical dystonia. In essence, each of these conditions apply to the appearance of involuntary muscle contractions. Read the rest of this entry »

Clear Skin becomes an Obsession
Billions of people around the world experience acne over their lifetimes. In fact, acne is the single most common skin disorder, and more common than all other skin disorders combined.
With this being the case, it is not surprising to see literally thousands of different acne treatments available on the market today. For light to moderate acne, these can be a godsend. And of course, there are herbal acne treatments like tea tree oil and green tea cream. These both are proven to work well as alternatives to benzoyl peroxide.
This is just to name a very few of the most effective acne treatments available. There are then hundreds of brands that repackages these treatments under thousands of names, and sell them to acne suffers the world over.
However, there is one acne symptom that none of these medications can treat? Acne Dysmorphia.
Acne Dysmorphia is really more of it’s own disorder altogether. With Anorexia, it is their weight, and with acne dysmorphia, it is their clear complexion. Read the rest of this entry »

Tooth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a process of lightening the color of teeth. It involves a bleaching process that reduces the discoloration of the enamel and dentin caused due to smoking, aging, consumption of tea, coffee and colas.
You can try tooth whitening if you have healthy teeth without any fillings. Teeth whiteners are not suitable for dark gray stains, crowns, colored fillings and stains due to some medication such as tetracycline.
There are several types of products available for use at home. When selecting a whitener you must look for the ADA Seal for safety and effectiveness. Tooth whiteners gels or strips contain carbamide or hydrogen peroxide as the active bleaching ingredients. The bleaching gel is placed in a thin bleaching tray that fits over the teeth. The tooth whitening strips are placed on the teeth and gently pressed to make a contact between the whitener and the surface of the tooth. Results are usually seen within the first week. Yes it can harm it in several ways. Here are more reasons to quit smoking now.
Skin is fed from within. The foods we eat are broken down into nutrients and waste. The nutrients are absorbed by the bloodstream which transports them around the body to the various organs, the largest of which is the skin. Oxygen is also transported and delivered in the same way. The cells absorb the oxygen and this is vital for the health of the organs and the life process itself. This whole process takes place automatically when we breathe……..
Except when we are breathing in smoke!
When we inhale the smoke from a cigarette the carbon monoxide from the smoke is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood. Carbon monoxide is a colorless odorless highly toxic gas also found in the smoke from car exhausts. The blood can absorb carbon monoxide 200 times as fast as oxygen so a lot of the oxygen is displaced by carbon monoxide. The organs including the skin are starved of life giving oxygen and slowly poisoned by the carbon monoxide.
But that’s not the end of it. Cigarette smoke also contains the following deadly cocktail of chemicals. Ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, butane, nicotine, carbolic acid, collidine, formic aldehyde, lutidine, parvoline, prussic acid, pyridine, arsenic and cadmium. This list is by no means complete.
The effect on the skin of all these is catastrophic. The liver goes into overdrive trying to expel these chemicals from the body and cannot perform its normal functions properly. The skin loses its healthy glow and takes on a yellowish-grey cast. The more cigarettes smoked, the worse your skin will look. Read the rest of this entry »

Perfecto
Nothing impresses your friends more than a perfect lip line, because it is the hardest makeup application to do. To get it, avoid applying the lip pencil too heavily, which will be difficult to blend and soften into the lipstick. Keeping your mouth closed lightly trace the lip line with the lip pencil so it can barely be seen, but can be used as a guide line.
Hold the brush horizontally to trace along the lip line, and do a little bit at a time, backing up and going over it again. Don’t try to get the whole line in one stroke. The best lip brush is a sable with a slightly tapered edge, not straight one.
This provides more control and a cleaner line.If you are really pressed for time, apply lipstick only on the bottom lip and press your lips together. Then, blend out to the lip line with the edge of a lip brush, not the tip, for a precise line, or use a dampened cotton swab for a soft, natural lip line.
When finished, instead of blotting the lips by biting a tissue, lay the tissue across both lips while your mouth is closed. This will imprint your lips, including the edges of the mouth where lipstick usually bleeds. Perfect!

Product Junkie
If you are a product junkie like me then you probably have lotions, creams, tubes of lipstick etc that have been sitting in the same spot untouched for several months or even years. You know the items that you just had to have but then forgot about after the thrill of buying it wore off. This article is intended to be used as a guide for product junkies everywhere to know when a product should be thrown away or kept around for a little while longer.
Everything has a shelf life including our make-up and all other potions and lotions. But there are things you can do to lengthen the life of your products.
1. Keep your products out of the bathroom this includes any prescriptions or over the counter medications too. Humidity can affect the life of all products.
2. Keep away from extreme temperatures including direct sunlight which could change the color and fragrance.
3. Do not share any products unless they come in a pump bottle or new applicator for each use. Bacteria can build up and shorten the life of your product. Or worse cause you to get an infection.
Lotions and Creams
Separation after sitting for a while means the product should be tossed. Smell is also an important factor. If the products smell changes in any way that is a good indication that it has expired. Toss it! Foundations, moisturizers etc all have a shelf life of about a year after opening as long as they are stored properly. If you notice any change in consistency or fragrance it’s a pretty safe bet that it is no longer good. If you still have that cover up from when you went to prom do yourself a favor and Toss it!
